正妃 耶輸陀羅姫・后 羅睺羅女の方 - Utagawa Kuniyoshi - Japan - Edo Period (1600-1868)

This is a Japanese woodblock print by Utagawa Kuniyoshi. It is an image depicting two women in glamorous outfits, and a pair of tanzaku inscribed with “正妃 耶輸陀羅姫” and “后 羅睺羅女の方” are placed within the print.
The figures’ kimonos are intricately decorated with numerous floral patterns and geometric motifs, and the hair ornaments and background are rendered in vivid colors.
On the print there is the block-printed signature accompanying the name Kuniyoshi used, **“一勇斎国芳画”**, and multiple reprint marks can be observed.

【Condition】
Showings include aging yellowing, light stains, dirt, rubbing, creases, folds, and wrinkles. The back side also shows age-related discoloration. Nevertheless, the design and colors remain relatively well preserved. For detailed condition, please refer to the photos of both sides.

The work will be carefully packed flat with stiff backing to prevent bending. It will be shipped from Japan via Japan Post EMS (tracking and insurance included).
