Description of the work
Refined and rare maiolica ceramic plate entirely hand-painted by the renowned Marche master Renato Volpini, dated 1965.
The work pairs the Italian ceramic tradition with the avant-garde figuration of the 1960s, a period in which the artist moved between the suggestions of Pop Art and the Milanese informal experimentation.
