The pen is brand new. With a 14-karat gold nib and an 18-karat gold-plated cap.
The pen uses a piston-filler ink system. Simply dip the nib into the ink reservoir and twist the top of the cap so the piston draws in ink, which you can see in the piston-filler viewing window.
