Jacopo Mattia Alegiani presents WAllS - 1997, an original two-panel acrylic painting on canvas, hand-signed and dated 1997, each panel 50 × 50 cm (53 × 53 cm with frame), total display size 106 × 53 cm; sold with frame in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
We offer a diptych. Acrylic, expanded acrylic paste and spray on canvas. Two material works on canvas, complete with frame and support structure.
Work dated 1997 – *Walls* series.
The total surface occupied by the two panels, when displayed together, measures 106 cm x 53 cm, with a thickness of 5 cm. Individually, each canvas measures 50 cm x 50 cm x 5 cm - 53 cm x 53 cm with frame
The buyer will receive the artwork already stretched and framed (wood). Shipping includes professional packaging, tracking number, and insurance.
This hand-signed work, dated 1997, marks the artist’s transition from graffiti to canvas. Reliefs, shadows, and the hyper-realistic representation of light on a raised material surface characterize this important body of work.
A minimal and elegant diptych of considerable visual impact, which can also be displayed on separate walls.
In the mid-1980s, *THE JA* was among the most active exponents of the graffiti scene. Under the pseudonym “The JA”, Jacopo Mattia Alegiani developed a long path of artistic experimentation, ranging from early graffiti works to contemporary material painting focused on perception, light, and surface.
By the late 1990s, the artist began experimenting with unusual materials and textured compounds, exploring the relationship between physical matter, light, and visual perception.
Over the years, he has exhibited in public and private institutions. Some of his works are permanently exhibited in galleries and museums.
