Le Yack - Now, Voyager - Hand signed

On the teak deck of a transatlantic liner cutting a sea of deep blue, a woman withers with a crinkled fringe from the 1930s, in a long white satin backless gown with a slit, turns toward the viewer, the fabric billowed by the wind. Behind her, the red-and-black banded funnel, the sun loungers, a coil of rope, the wake of foam and seagulls circling in the summer sky. Semiotically, the scene embodies the glamour of the great crossings of the interwar period: the flowing dress in the wind, the mythical liner, the movement toward elsewhere. The satin white of the dress concentrates light on the blues of the sea and sky. Smooth, sleek workmanship, fine spray and meticulous wake, a spirit of Art Deco illustration.

Le Yack, emerging French pop and street art artist. Alexandre Pelletier, known as Le Yack, was born in 1972 in Tours. During his studies, he joined the École Supérieure d'Art et de Design (ESAD) in Orléans. He is an art director in publishing and on the web. Instagram @leyack45. He is exhibited within a network of about forty galleries in France, Germany, Belgium, United States.
