Art Nouveau Plant Stand with Marquetry

Description:

Elegant plant stand / furniture for plants in the Art Nouveau (Modernist) style, dating approximately between 1900 and 1920.

Made in dark-finished wood in a mahogany tone, it features a streamlined structure with slightly curved legs and sinuous lines typical of the period. The lower frieze stands out, decorated with marquetry of vegetal and curvilinear motifs in contrasting-toned wood.

The top comprises a rectangular compartment with an interior metal lining, originally intended to hold plants or pots. At the bottom there is a wide shelf, completing the design and adding functionality.

It preserves an attractive patina and shows signs of use and small wear typical of its age, clearly visible in the photographs. The photographs are an integral part of the description.
