Born in 1978 in the heart of France, XTC has shaped his artistic universe through his interest in Design, Pop Art, and more recently Street Art. This visual exploration evolved into a passion that needed to be realized.
XTC defines himself as a self-taught plastic artist, aligning with the Pop Art movement through the de-sighting of contemporary consumer goods.
His creativity is expressed through the bold staging of icons of popular consumption (such as McDonald’s, Malabar, Chupa), which he makes clash with the world of luxury (including Chanel, Hermes, Veuve Clicquot champagne, and Caviar) and Street Art, further blurring the already tenuous boundaries between these worlds.
He expresses his art through sculpture, blending painting with all kinds of resins, plastics, and sometimes minerals.
He draws inspiration, among others, from Banksy, Keith Haring, Orlinski, Andy Warhol, Obey, and advertising and addictions in general.
All potential defects or imperfections are an integral part of the work: it is an empty (gas-free) fire extinguisher recovered for art, which may show surface flaws visible through the paint. (Obviously it is forbidden to sell a full extinguisher whose standard labels or pin are absent)
