Mel Ramos (1935–2018) is regarded as one of the most important American Pop Art artists. He became known for his humorous and provocative depictions of pin-up girls, often paired with brand products such as chocolate, cigarettes, or beverages. Ramos studied art at Sacramento State College in California and was closely connected with Pop Art luminaries like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and Tom Wesselmann. His works fuse consumer critique with erotic visual language and are today represented in major museums as well as international private collections. In the art market, Ramos’s paintings and graphics draw considerable attention, especially his limited screen prints and lithographs, which appeal to a broad collector audience.
