Double drawing of Johan Dijkstra, provided with a studio stamp.
Johannes (Johan) Dijkstra (Groningen, December 23, 1896 – there, February 21, 1978) was a Dutch painter, graphic artist, glazier, mosaic artist and teacher. He is regarded as one of the most important Groningen artists of the twentieth century. In 1918 he, together with Jan Altink, founded the Groningen art circle De Ploeg.
In his early work the influence of French impressionism and Vincent van Gogh is visible; from around 1924 he further developed in a more expressionistic direction.
Dimensions: 59 x 35 cm
Dimensions with frame: 60 x 55 cm
Frame is damaged
Viewing is of course possible. In addition, we have our own in-house framing workshop, celebrating its 85th anniversary. Furthermore, we make use of restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to make use of this, of course we would be happy to hear from you.
