In this square format, Medsan places Spider-Man, the Marvel hero, crouched at the center of the frame, in a bold blue on a cream-white background. The mask with the large white eyes rimmed in black is recognizable, along with the fine grid running across the shoulders and legs, and at the center of the chest the red spider, the sole bright note of the scene. His right arm raises upward and shoots a thread that runs diagonally to the edge, while a tangle of threads falls in loops between his feet.
He is perched on the railing of a curved wooden bridge, whose pillars dive into waves with blue swirls. Above him, on the left, a pine tree with tiered branches; in the distance, snow-capped Mount Fuji. A fine network of dark cracks and broad golden lines traverses the entire surface and closes in around the character. Three colors are enough to hold the scene: blue, white, and gold.

Medsan and Popsan are two signatures of one and the same artist. Under the name Medsan, he explores the world of medicine and anatomy; under the name Popsan, he revisits icons of popular culture by blending pop art, Japanese art, and anachronisms. On Catawiki, his pop works still appear under the name Medsan, but they belong to the Popsan universe. He creates within Atelier Joconde, a family-run artists’ workshop, alongside artists Le Yack (figurative painting) and Neo Pablo (abstraction).
