Splendid Italian Mastro de Paja pipe for collection, from a private collection, characterized by a high-quality briar, aged and with an especially elegant grain, typical of the best Italian artisanal productions of the period.
A specimen of great charm, where the quality of the briar of yesteryear represents one of the most interesting elements: the wood shows a beautiful grain structure, deep natural shading and a warm amber tone that fully enhances the shape of the pipe.
The pipe features a classic and balanced shape, with a substantial and harmonious bowl, well proportioned to the shank and mouthpiece. The upper part of the bowl is enriched by the characteristic rusticated finish, creating a pleasant contrast with the smooth and glossy surface of the briar.
The black mouthpiece elegantly completes the set and is characterized by a distinctive circular metal insert. On the shank you can see the markings “Mastro de Paja” and “Italy”, elements that clearly identify the Italian craftsmanship.

Mastro de Paja represents one of the most important historic names in the pipe-making tradition of Pesaro, an Italian city long tied to artisanal pipe production.
The manufacture was founded in 1972 by Terenzio Cecchini and Giancarlo Guidi. For its artisanal approach and attention to briar quality, the brand has over time become a reference for collectors of Italian pipes.
The specimen offered here can be traced to the historical/Guidi era, roughly between the late seventies and early eighties. In the absence of original documentation or a specific dating mark, this indication is intentionally stated as a period attribution rather than an absolute dating.
