Special functional Persian smoking pipe with its accompanying decorated wooden storage box, purchased in Isfahan, Iran, in 1998.
The pipe is made of wood and immediately stands out for its very rich, finely crafted geometric and star-shaped decoration. The combination of gold-colored, red, light, and dark details forms an almost continuous pattern around the pipe and gives the object a distinctive Persian appearance.
It is a genuine, functional smoking pipe and not merely a decorative object. The long, elegantly curved stem is detachable at the junction with the pipe head, making the pipe consist of two parts.
The pipe comes with a handsome wooden storage box. The lid is decorated with carved floral motifs and inlaid copper-colored/metal decorations. The interior is lined with red material and provides a fitting presentation for the pipe.
Because of the combination of refined decoration, the distinctive form, and the accompanying wooden box, this is both a decorative collectible and a functional smoking pipe.
