The composition is entirely determined by the three Dutch terms “GRAUW – BEELD – BLIND.” The large-format typography appears in a very restrained, almost monochrome gray-beige and partly blends with the image ground. This creates a deliberate tension between word, image, visibility and perception.

Rémy Zaugg (1943–2005) was a significant Swiss artist who explored in depth the relationships between artwork, language, space and the viewer.
