Venlonia Parlour – Vintage Dutch Guitar – Made in the Netherlands

Offered is a vintage Venlonia parlour guitar, an interesting example of Dutch guitar building from the mid-20th century. Venlonia was established in Venlo in 1939 by violin and guitar maker P.J.H. “Harry” Schreurs (1921–2002). After 1945, the company focused primarily on guitars and produced instruments under several names, including Venlonia, Famos, Magic and Unicon.

This guitar features a compact parlour-style body, an attractive dark sunburst finish, a small round soundhole and a traditional vintage construction. Comparable Venlonia parlour guitars are documented from the 1950s, making this instrument a good example of the Dutch guitar-building tradition of that period.
