“Cuban Still Life” is a 100 × 70 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García.

The work presents a tropical still life placed inside a home, where fruits, ceramics, and everyday objects build a scene rich with references to the Caribbean environment. On the table appear a pineapple, watermelon, citrus fruits, a bottle of wine, and various pieces of crockery, arranged abundantly and spontaneously.
The still life is integrated within a domestic space dominated by a strong combination of yellow, pink, and green. In the background, an open window introduces the exterior vegetation and visually enlarges the composition, establishing a dialogue between the intimacy of the house and the tropical nature.

The blue and white ceramics take on special prominence against the warm tones of the fruits. Oranges, yellows, and reds contrast with deep greens, blues, and pinks, creating a vibrant palette in which color functions as the main expressive element.
The direct brushwork, defined outlines, and simplified forms show echoes of Fauvism and the modern still-life tradition. Ernest García moves away from a strictly naturalistic representation to build the scene through large color fields and strong chromatic contrasts.
