Special original Dunhill Shell Briar model 57 Army Mount, manufactured in England in 1972.

This classic Dunhill has the characteristic dark, deeply grain-filled Shell Briar finish and is equipped with a metal Army Mount. The black vulcanite mouthpiece bears the well-known Dunhill White Spot.

The pipe is model 57, a classic straight Billiard. The 12-date corresponds within the Dunhill dating system to 1972.

The Army Mount is not only decorative: this construction strengthens the transition between shank and mouthpiece and makes it possible to place the mouthpiece directly into the metal sleeve. A similar Dunhill Shell Briar 57 Army Mount is also described by Smokingpipes as a Billiard with a silver Army Mount.

The pipe is in used vintage condition, with normal signs of use and aging appropriate for a pipe over 50 years old. The bowl has been smoked and the mount shows patina. Not heavily restored or refinished.
