“The Guardian of Morocco” is a 200 × 150 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García.

The work builds a scene of serene atmosphere in which architecture, landscape, and figure are articulated through an intense chromatic language. Beneath a large arch inspired by Moroccan design, a man dressed in a yellow tunic contemplates the city, accompanied by a large black panther, whose presence gives the title and an enigmatic character to the composition.
In the background extends a city of pinkish, ochre, green, and turquoise tones, dominated by the vertical of a minaret. Above it, a wide deep blue sky and a slim crescent moon reinforce the sense of stillness and nocturnal contemplation.
