"Beyond the Light": matter, light and color overlap in a balance of contrasts. The red traverses the composition while blues and earthy tones open up depths, evoking an urban space suspended between reality and memory.
The painting can also be interpreted upside down.

PAOLO CONTIN has been developing his personal artistic path for over twenty-five years, in constant evolution. Trained in design and active since 1980 in the fashion world, he transfers to painting a particular sensitivity to color, form, and compositional balance.

Since 1999 he has exhibited his works, and in 2002 he held his first solo show in Padua. This was followed by numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad, with appearances in Copenhagen, Munich, Paris, Brussels, Istanbul, Buenos Aires, and Sydney.

Paolo Contin’s artistic journey is also documented by the inclusion in the Mondadori Art Catalog with related appraisals. Over the years his works have also been published in the Arte Mondadori magazine and in numerous catalogs and volumes produced for solo exhibitions and major art fairs, some of which were published with the support of the Italian Cultural Institute.

He was also among the founding members of Tostart, an artistic association born from the meeting of ten Venetian artists and active up to the pandemic period.

A versatile and independent artist, Contin has built over the years a recognizable language, far from belonging to any single school or tendency. His research traverses geometric abstraction, material and gestural painting, alternating rigor and expressive freedom. Lines, blocks, geometric shapes, and intense chromatic relationships become elements of a vocabulary through which he investigates balance, movement, and emotion.

Experimentation also extends to sculpture and wood, with works built through the layering of geometric elements, confirming a search that goes beyond the boundaries of painting alone.
His work continues to evolve today without predefined formulas: each piece arises from the desire to preserve freedom, identity, and expressive authenticity.
