Splendid late Meiji period or early Taisho period Ginbari cloisonné vase (bearing the 'JAPAN' mark impressed on the foot, distinctive of the high-quality production intended for export to the United States.)

The piece captivates with its technical quality and color impact: the brilliant work on silver foil gives extraordinary luminosity to the background, which gracefully fades from a deep emerald green to a warm yellow-gold. On this aquatic canvas two refined red fish stand out, finely detailed among delicate stylized seaweed.
