Splendid color lithograph by the Master Michele Cascella, one of the greatest landscape painters and colorists of Italian 20th century.
The work depicts a bright and serene scene of daily life: a tree-lined square animated by figures, passersby and market stalls, drawn from Cascella’s Arquata Scrivia, The soft stroke and the chromatic lay-in, typical of Cascella’s lithographic mastery, are able to superbly convey the effect and delicacy of pastel, a technique among the artist’s most beloved.
A work of great breadth and classical size, enhanced by a very low edition size (only 110 copies in the world), which increases its collecting interest.
