Peterson's Block Meerschaum, shape 87, Made in Great Britain, in meerschaum massello, with an extremely pronounced rusticated/patina finish and black mouthpiece Peterson.
The inscription “BLOCK MEERSCHAUM” is important: it indicates a pipe carved from a block of meerschaum, not a simple briar pipe coated.
Era
From the visible characteristics I would place it roughly in the 1970s, probably the first half/mid-70s. The exact dating cannot, however, be determined from the number 87 alone.

I found fairly useful recent comparables:
A Peterson Block Meerschaum from the 1970s was recently sold for US$199, about €170–175.
A Peterson Block Meerschaum from 1976, model 314, with a sterling silver mount, sold for US$375, about €323.
Other vintage Peterson meerschaum examples have sold around US$195.
Yours, however, is not a standard specimen: the large body, shape 87, the extremely developed coloration, and especially the distinctive mount make it more interesting.
