Description from the seller

elegant, museum-quality antique cigarette/cigar holder dating from the late 19th to the early 20th century (circa 1900). The holder features a striking two-tone design made from high-quality, marbleized early resin/Bakelite in warm, translucent amber-orange hues. The two pieces of the stem are seamlessly joined by a central gold-tone metal band.
The piece comes fully complete with its rare, original contoured hard case. The interior is luxuriously split-lined with deep wine-red velvet on the base and cream silk on the inside lid. The silk lining displays a beautifully preserved, highly legible maker's stamp: "H. Van Ballaert, Fabt. de Pipes, 88 Boul. Anspach - Bourse, Bruxelles". The exterior is wrapped in textured dark brown leather and uniquely retains its original gold-leaf lettering along the side profile, matching the interior stamp.
