A beautiful colour lithograph on Vélin d’Arches paper, after Pablo Picasso’s celebrated Tête d’Arlequin.
The lithograph was executed in 1962 by Henri Deschamps, the renowned French master lithographer associated with the production of numerous important lithographic works after Picasso.
The work bears the lithographer’s inscription “DESCHAMPS-LITH.” at the lower left of the image and “PICASSO-PINX.” at the lower right.
The sheet is printed on Vélin d’Arches, the prestigious French fine-art paper frequently used for high-quality lithographic editions.
A blindstamp is clearly visible in the right-hand margin.
There are also pencil-written figures in the lower left margin, visible in the photographs. As their precise significance cannot be established with certainty, they are presented without further attribution.
