Save Shipping Costs with Our Popular Combined Shipping Service
Save shipping costs with our popular combined shipping service, which is available for almost all items we offer.
If you win multiple items from us within the same themed auction, please wait until Catawiki combines your won lots into one combined order with only one set of shipping costs whenever possible.
If payment is completed too early, this unfortunately no longer works, because Catawiki automatically creates separate orders. In such cases, we carry out one shipment per order and unfortunately cannot refund double-paid shipping costs afterwards.
We therefore highly recommend waiting until all desired auctions from the same themed auction have ended before completing payment.
Franklin Mint – American Civil War Collector’s Pocket Knife – Battle of Manassas 1862 – 24 Karat Gold & Sterling Silver Accents
An impressive collector’s pocket knife from The Franklin Mint, created in remembrance of the American Civil War and specifically the historic Battle of Manassas, Virginia.
The blade is finely engraved with the inscription:
“The Second Battle of Bull Run – Manassas, Virginia – August 29–30, 1862”
together with an outline of the state of Virginia.
The elaborate handle is decorated with historical Civil War imagery. One end features the Confederate battle flag in red, blue and white enamel, while the central panel depicts a detailed historical military scene. Blue enamel bands with white stars complete the distinctly American design.
On the reverse is the original Franklin Mint Collector Knives medallion.
The elaborate metalwork is accented with 24 karat gold and sterling silver / 925 silver, giving this substantial collector’s knife an especially luxurious appearance.
With an overall opened length of approximately 19 cm, it is an impressive display piece and an interesting addition to collections of Franklin Mint objects, historical memorabilia and American Civil War collectibles.
Condition
The collector’s knife is in very good condition, especially considering its age.
The blade, decorative panels, enamel details and metal surfaces present very well. Minor age-related traces may be present.
Please inspect the photographs carefully for the exact condition.
