Uliano Lucas (Milan, 1942), from a proletarian family, from a very young age began his training by frequenting the historic Brera venues where he had the opportunity to mingle and exchange experiences with artists, photographers, and intellectuals. Always focused on social issues, with his shots he masterfully depicted the Milanese popular and social fabric, student protests, the years of terrorism, the world of work and its transformations. He collaborated as a freelance reporter with the country's leading Italian newspapers. As a correspondent he followed and documented the decolonization of Africa, the complex reality of the Middle East, the dissolution of the former Yugoslavia, and the lives of migrants in Europe.
