Beatles - Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (UK) – 1st Stereo Pressing – Complete!! EX Sleeve! - LP - 1st Pressing - 1967

A fully complete original 1967 UK first stereo pressing of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, one of the most important albums ever released. Issued on 1 June 1967, this copy features the original YEX 637-1 / YEX 638-1 stereo lacquers pressed onto black-and-yellow Parlophone labels retaining all the defining first-issue characteristics, including "THE GRAMOPHONE CO. LTD." around the perimeter and the original "SOLD IN U.K. SUBJECT TO RESALE PRICE CONDITIONS, SEE PRICE LISTS" statement. The record is housed in the original fully laminated Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold sleeve, one of the most elaborate British LP packages produced at the time, with all outer panels, inside gatefold artwork and internal flipovers laminated as issued. Notably, this copy is fully complete with two important original components that are frequently missing today: the psychedelic red-and-white inner sleeve designed by the Dutch art collective The Fool, used specifically with the original issue before replacement on later pressings, and the original dark green cut-out sheet designed by Peter Blake and Jann Haworth.

Sleeve (EX):
A particularly attractive original laminated gatefold sleeve with vibrant artwork and excellent laminate sheen throughout. The structure remains very strong, with only light creasing and modest wear to the spine. The inside gatefold is clean and colourful, with the original flipover construction clearly visible. The sleeve displays beautifully overall, grading a strong EX.
Inner Sleeve / Inserts:
The famous red-and-white psychedelic inner sleeve designed by The Fool is present — an essential part of a complete first pressing and increasingly difficult to find in good condition. The original dark green cut-out sheet is also included, making this a properly complete example.
Vinyl (VG+):
The record retains a beautiful deep gloss and presents very well overall. There is some light playwear and a number of fine hairlines from previous use, with some spindle wear visible around the centre holes entirely consistent with an original copy that has been enjoyed. Nothing excessive. Overall a strong and attractive VG+ example.
