"Sfiorandosi" (Project "Distacco & Autonomia")
The black point is me.
Above me looms a huge, dense, almost alive mass, representing my pattern, the sign that belongs to me and identifies me. It approaches until it touches me, but does not crush or erase me. It is an immense presence that seems to stop before something minimal, as if trying to recognize it, to understand it.
The work lives exactly in this tension: between weight and delicacy, between what could overwhelm and what, instead, chooses to stop at the limit of contact.
I remain small, but intact.
PROJECT:
"Distacco & Autonomia" arises from the relationship between me and a sign that has accompanied me since 2019, spontaneously born on the order slips while I worked at the bar. Over time that gesture grew into a personal language, almost an autonomous presence.
The project reflects on this relationship: how much of what I create belongs to me and how, growing, it can become independent from me? In the works this tension often takes the form of two elements: the black dot, representing me, and the mass, representing my language and, more generally, the art world.
Distacco is not rejection, but the search for a personal space. The void thus becomes fundamental: it is distance, breath, and possibility. Even geometric shapes help contain the gesture without completely controlling it.
The works of the series thus explore, each time differently, the relationship between belonging and separation, control and autonomy, presence and distance.
"Distacco & Autonomia" is a study on the possibility of belonging without being absorbed, of creating something that can become bigger than us without erasing us, and of finding one's identity in the space that opens between what we come from and what we choose to become.
BIO:
I am Pietro Fight, Italian visual artist based in Milan. My research revolves around the writing of gesture: an abstract language made of signs, circles, fills and voids that repeat and transform from one work to another. Through my paintings I try to tell my way of seeing life and my artistic path, working on the relationship between density and breath, weight and space. Each work is unique and arises from a manual process of rhythm, repetition and ever-changing variations.
N.B. -> This listing contains scenographies & frames generated by artificial intelligence.
