Miquel Barceló’s Cahier de félins (2011) is a contemporary limited, numbered, hand-signed edition from Spain, 49 × 37 cm, executed as a gravure with mixed media and in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
The Cahier de Félins by Miquel Barceló is a limited edition art edition, numbered and signed by the artist, inspired by the cave paintings in the Chauvet cave.
The work is presented in an elegant maple wood case (with a pyrograved self-portrait of the artist on the lid) and contains the following elements:
Facsimile book (Cahier de Félins): Reproduction of 37 drawings of felines from the artist’s own notebook. It is bound in raw cotton cloth with an original drawing printed on the cover. It consists of about 144 pages on high-quality paper (like Tintoretto Gesso).
Study book (Chauvet): A complementary volume on the discovery of the Chauvet cave. It includes the original photographs of the speleologists, diaries of the discovery, and texts by specialists such as John Berger and Francisco Calvo Serraller.
Numbered plate: A folded sheet or loose plate (about 88 × 33 cm) with the reproduction of one of the felines, signed.
