Montblanc - Writers Edition "Arthur Conan Doyle 1902" - 18k gold nib - Still sealed - Fountain pen

I am selling this still-sealed Montblanc fountain pen from the Writers Edition series of 1995. This model is called the Arthur Conan Doyle, as it was styled after the history and lifestyle of the famous writer. It has an 18-karat solid gold nib, size M (Medium). It is still plastic-wrapped and thus completely new; the photos in the ad are from another example. It comes complete with the book-shaped box, cardboard sleeve, and all relevant papers. The Montblanc Writers Edition Tribute to Arthur Conan Doyle Limited Edition is dedicated to one of the most famous writers of detective novels and creator of the legendary detective Sherlock Holmes. The precious brown lacquer refers to the pipe frequently smoked by the detective, an element which is also found in the cap and the wooden cone. The cap and the body of this edition are decorated with a tartan motif in reference to the detective’s coat and parts of a historic map of London. The clip is inspired by the magnifying glass used by Sherlock Holmes to conduct his investigations. Behind the clip is a dog silhouette in photoluminescent pigments, in reference to the famous story “The Hound of the Baskervilles.” The cap features the signature of Arthur Conan Doyle, as well as the logo of the detective’s first adventure, “A Study in Red.” The nib of this edition is crowned with the Montblanc emblem in precious wood. The 18K gold nib bears a hand-made portrait of Arthur Conan Doyle and a magnifying glass, in reference to his famous character.
