Montblanc Writers Edition 2013 Honoré de Balzac fountain pen, made in precious resin, in new condition with a 10 mm diameter and 10 mm length.
Description from the seller
Montblanc's Writers Edition 2013 is a prestigious limited edition series dedicated to the renowned French writer Honoré de Balzac. As in every Maison limited edition, in this case too the details pay homage to the personality and work of the celebrated author. Balzac's initials are finely engraved, in a typographic style typical of the era, on the nib made of 750 solid gold. The pen's decorative rings represent the three main French social classes of the 19th century, masterfully described in La Comédie humaine: the upper ring of the cap, sumptuous and adorned with gilded finishes, symbolizes the nobility; the middle ring represents the bourgeoisie, while the plain ring on the nib cone alludes to the less affluent classes. The design and shape of the pen reflect Balzac's imposing figure and his style. The nib/cone of the fountain pen, in particular, evokes the pointed-toe shoes that the writer was wont to wear. The dark gray tones of the lacquered body, alternated with refined decorative lines on the cap, recall the author's daily attire. To complete the tribute, Balzac's signature is elegantly engraved on the cap, making every detail of this edition an authentic and refined homage.
