Salvador Dalí — Landscape of the Empordà, 1979

Salvador Dalí (1904–1989)
Title: Landscape of the Empordà
Year: 1979
Technique: Lithography
Signature: facsimile signature, integrated into the print; not a hand-signed pencil signature.

The composition gathers different motifs of the Ampurdan landscape reinterpreted by Dalí: architecture, bridges, vegetation, human figures and bodies of water, arranged in a scene highly contrasted in black and white, with some bluish touches. The large central tree structures the whole image and gives the composition an almost theatrical character.

It is a work linked to the graphic universe of Obres de Museu, where Dalí recreates landscapes and references to the Empordà associated with his personal universe and with Josep Pla's text.
