The Newport bass has a korina body with a warm tone and a neck in ash and laminated with a bright and defined tone. This original combination provides a warm yet lively and bright sound. Humbucker pickup in alnico at the bridge and a ceramic pickup at the neck.

A simple and essential passive circuit with two volumes and a tone preserves the instrument's original natural timbre.

The wood called Korina has been used since the 1950s for the production of musical instruments. It is highly valued for its compactness and resonance, traits that make it one of the best timbral choices in its class.
