Description: For sale an outstanding and extremely rare collectible set from the famous Montblanc Writers Edition series, dedicated to Alexandre Dumas and launched on the market in 1996.
This lot is the legendary and highly sought-after variant with the "wrong signature". For a production error, Montblanc engraved on the cap the signature of the son (Alexandre Dumas fils) with the ascending flourish, instead of that of the father, author of The Three Musketeers. The lot was withdrawn from the market almost immediately, making these pieces rare and of the highest collectible interest.
The set consists of 2 pieces (Duo Set) in near-new condition (New Old Stock / Never inked): Fountain Pen (F) Serial Number: 08358 / 20000 NPennino: Solid bi-color 18kt gold nib (750) finely decorated with the French lily.
Nib: Fine (F) – It still bears the original paper sticker "F / Germany" on the body, testimony that the pen has never been used or inked.
Filling: Piston-filler.
Mechanical Pencil (Portamine) Serial Number: 5026 / 9000 Details: Perfectly functioning, smooth mechanism.
Design Features: Body in fine gray-blue marbled resin, gold-plated finishes and clip. The clip is enriched with a design that evokes the shape of a sword.
