Traveling, searching and describing through his etchings. That is what Montyn has always done. Wars in distant regions such as Koerland and Korea. Journeys to Morocco, Southern France, the Sahara and especially Asia, where he again ends up in war zones. This time not as a soldier, but in Vietnam as a guide for transports of child refugees and later he stays in Cambodia under the Khmer Rouge. This last experience would years later form the inspiration for the “Roumpha” series. Also the travels through Thailand, Japan, Laos, the Philippines and Indonesia over the years form the foundation and inspiration for a fantastic graphic oeuvre.
