Théophile-Alexandre Steinlen was a Swiss-born French Art Nouveau painter and graphic artist.
Le Chat Noir was regarded as the first modern cabaret in the bohemian district of Montmartre in Paris.

In 1896 Steinlen created this poster to advertise a tour of the Le Chat Noir company, which performed in other cities.

Never mounted, and kept in a dark archival storage between protective acid-free paper.
