Pablo Picasso’s Avignon Prolongation, a 1973 colour lithographic original exhibition poster printed in Paris by Mourlot with lithographer Henri Deschamps on Arches paper, 70.9 x 57.4 cm, unsigned and unnumbered, in good vintage condition though rolled and with creases along edges.

PABLO PICASSO (1881-1973) Avignon Prolongation, 1973
Original color lithographic exhibition poster, created for Picasso Avignon Prolongation in the Palais des Papes in Avignon in 1973.
The poster was printed in Paris by the renowned printer Mourlot, with lithographer Henri Deschamps.
Bottom right in the illustration is the printed note:
"HENRI DESCHAMPS GRAV. LITH. MOURLOT IMP. 73"
The poster is printed on Arches paper. The original ARCHES watermark is clearly present in the paper and is visible on one of the photographs when light shines through.

The poster is based on a work from Picasso's late period with Mougins as its subject, painted in 1972. The poster was produced in 1973 for the exhibition in Avignon.
Condition:
The poster is over 50 years old and is in good vintage condition, with clear signs of aging and use.
The poster has been stored rolled for a long period and shows roll lines. Along especially the left edge there are multiple creases/folds. Additionally, there are scattered smaller creases and printing marks, mainly in the margins. In the lower white margin there are a few light discolorations/spots.
The printed illustration itself generally presents well. There are no large missing parts visible. The poster has not been mounted or stretched on canvas.
The condition has been photographed extensively and up close. Therefore please examine all the photos carefully; they form an important part of the condition description.
The ARCHES watermark, the mention of Henri Deschamps/Mourlot, and the reverse side have also been photographed separately.
The poster will be carefully rolled and protected for shipping in a sturdy tube.
