Ernest García's painting Jarrón tropical XL, a 100 × 70 cm acrylic work from 2026 in the Fauvist style, original edition, hand-signed, from Spain, sold directly by the artist.
Description from the seller
"Tropical Vase" is a 100 × 70 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García.
The work features a lush arrangement of tropical vegetation emerging from a large ceramic vase, which becomes the true narrative center of the composition. On its surface appears a small figurative scene: a woman dressed in pink rests beside a tiger, under a crescent moon, creating an image within the image itself.
The composition is built from large vegetal forms. Monstera leaves and bird-of-paradise flowers unfold toward the edges, occupying a large part of the pictorial space, giving the whole a sense of abundance and vitality. The turquoise background intensifies the coral, salmon, and orange tones of the leaves and flowers, while deep greens and blues provide contrast and structure.
The white vase, decorated in cobalt blue with small orange accents, introduces a reference to traditional ceramics reinterpreted through a contemporary language. The scene of the woman and the tiger adds an exotic and slightly fantastical component, transforming a classic floral still life into a visual narrative.
Visible brushwork, the simplification of forms, and, especially, the free and expressive use of color reveal echoes of Fauvism and the modern tradition associated with Henri Matisse, particularly in the relationship between vegetal motifs, ornamentation, and large chromatic surfaces.
In "Tropical Vase," Ernest García combines nature, figure, and decorative object in a composition with strong visual impact. The contrast between turquoises, corals, blues, and greens, together with the monumental character of the vase and the vegetation, creates a vibrant work linked to the tropical imaginary and to contemporary figurative painting.
