Biography :

Reinhoud d’Haese (1925–2007)

A singular figure of the Belgian avant-garde, Reinhoud d’Haese is closely linked to the Cobra movement and several of its major protagonists. He frequents Pierre Alechinsky, Christian Dotremont and Asger Jorn, operating at the heart of the experimental art scene of the post-war period.

His work is distinguished by fantastic and poetic sculptures, populated by hybrid creatures with free and expressive forms. Between surrealism, humor and imagination, Reinhoud develops a personal language that earns him a special place in Belgian art of the 20th century.

A work with a strong character, at the crossroads of sculpture, surrealism and the Cobra spirit.
