Description from the seller

Unique and original work painted by hand by Raphaël Monnet

Raphaël Monnet develops contemporary abstract painting in which color becomes material, rhythm, and movement.

He approaches the canvas as a space for experimentation. The painting is projected, accumulated, and confronted with opposing colors. The impacts cross paths, some areas densify while others allow the background to breathe.

His process does not rely on a pre-planned image, but on a progressive construction. Each intervention leads to the next until an balance emerges between apparent disorder and pictorial organization.

Based in the Léo Varek studio in France, Raphaël Monnet continues his research around projection and the superposition of colors. His works possess an immediate presence at a distance and reveal, when you approach, a multitude of details, nuances, and unexpected encounters between pigments.

Each canvas results from a unique process. The trajectory of projections, the distribution of matter, and the interactions between colors can never be reproduced exactly.

Format and presentation

The dimensions indicated correspond to the total size of the canvas. A painted peripheral section is intended to be folded over the sides of the frame, without encroaching on the main composition.

Some images show the work staged to facilitate projection into an interior. They are created using the ArtStage staging software, which makes AI mockups. The proportions may vary slightly depending on the staging. Please refer to the dimensions indicated in the description to know the actual size of the work.

The edges are partially painted and allow for a clean finish after mounting.

Shipping

The work is shipped rolled in a rigid protective packaging, without stretcher or frame.

Slight creases may appear upon receipt. This is perfectly normal for a canvas shipped rolled. These marks disappear naturally when the canvas is stretched.

For optimal results, it is recommended to have the canvas mounted on a stretcher by a local framer.

Shipments are carried out by express carrier — DHL, FedEx, or equivalent — with careful tracking until delivery.

Some destinations may incur additional shipping charges beyond my control. In that case, the buyer will be informed before shipment to adjust the fees if necessary. Without approval of these fees, shipment cannot be made.

Additional information

Colors may vary slightly depending on screen settings and shooting conditions.
Frame and frame not included.
