About the artist:
Diederik van Apple was born in 1985 in Leiden, Netherlands, and grew up there. In his childhood he always visualized the overall picture. There was no boundary between fantasy and reality. He was addicted to Walt Disney books and legendary films such as The Godfather, Scarface, Pulp Fiction and Boondock Saints. He loved watching the stories, reading them, and fully immersing himself as if he were part of the piece.
In 2003 he began his law studies, but after two years he realized that he could not express his creativity in this field and decided to quit. In 2005 he began as an art representative in an art gallery in Amsterdam. In those years he traveled around the world, participated in exhibitions and art fairs for the art gallery and found his passion.
With his experience, artistic insight and passion for art, he began to think about designs for artworks. He combined his fantasy with the artistic atmosphere in which he had lived in recent years. There was no boundary between work and leisure, and he began to build unlimited possibilities of digital mix-media art. After his first launch in 2017 he produced three series of limited editions that sold out in no time.
This was the beginning of Van Apple’s artworks and his career. He took 6 months and released amazing new series of artworks; Mr. Satoshi, Golden Tweety, loved by Daffy and Mickey Who. After his latest releases he decided to dive deeper into the creative mood and flew once to Ibiza. The most artistic island on earth was a great success and new things frequently appear. At the moment his artworks are worldwide loved by art lovers and investors are fascinated by his style.
Van Apple’s art is a combination of digital techniques such as photography and famous features. The base of the art is aluminum foil or gold foil, then he adds holograms, colors, glitter, diamonds and other handmade items. All artworks are handcrafted with several layers of epoxy resin. By adding these layers he can create innovative and unique mix-media art with a fantastic 3D effect.
