Edouard Eymard (1924-2020) - Soleil dans les rochers -1956

A pretty engraving by Edouard Eymard, a French painter and engraver. Native of Haute-Loire, he lived in Paris. Exhibitions in Saint-Étienne and Paris.
While painting is his main activity, from 1952 he discovers engraving. In the following years he creates a body of forty or fifty prints, drypoints.
His prints, produced in small numbers and issued by Mourlot, did not have the chance for wide diffusion.
In the 1950s he regularly etched small copper plates to serve as greeting cards.
It is clear that the early, figurative prints yield to abstract representations from 1955 onward.
