Description from the seller

White Horse Scotch Whisky – Late 1960s / Early 1970s – Italian Market – 3/4 L – Original Tax Seal – Exceptional Fill Level

A highly collectible vintage bottle of White Horse Scotch Whisky, produced and bottled in Scotland by White Horse Distillers Ltd., Glasgow & London, and originally distributed on the Italian market by P. Soffiantino & Co., Genoa.

Based on the period bottle design, the classic four-horse stagecoach label, screw closure, Italian 3/4 litre format and original Italian fiscal strip, this example can reasonably be dated to the late 1960s / early 1970s.

The bottle remains unopened, retaining its original metal screw closure and, most importantly, the original Italian State fiscal strip for “Acquavite di Cereali”, marked “da litri 3/4” and still extending over the closure.

One of the most remarkable features of this particular bottle is its exceptionally well-preserved fill level. The whisky remains extremely high in the bottle, reaching the base of the neck, an excellent level for a bottle that is approximately half a century old. The very limited apparent evaporation makes this example particularly attractive from a collector's point of view.

The original front label retains the classic White Horse Cellar – Estab. 1742 emblem, the Royal Warrant “By Appointment to Her Majesty the Queen”, and the historic illustration referring to the Edinburgh–London stagecoach journey.

The bottle is individually numbered EJ No. 0074117.

The lower section of the front label bears the original Italian-market information, including the importer P. Soffiantino & Co., Genova, as well as the period wording “Distilled and Bottled in Scotland under British Government Supervision.”

The original rear label is also present and carries the White Horse guarantee wording.

The bottle and labels display genuine signs of age and long-term storage. The paper labels show general toning, staining, small abrasions and wear to the edges, while the capsule and fiscal strip also show age-related wear. Nevertheless, the overall presentation remains highly attractive and, importantly, the closure and fiscal strip appear undisturbed.

Some natural deposits/sediment are visible at the bottom of the bottle, as clearly shown in the photographs. This is reported for completeness and is consistent with the considerable age and long storage of the bottle.

Condition highlights: unopened vintage bottle; original screw closure; original Italian State fiscal strip; exceptionally high fill level at the base of the neck; original front and rear labels; bottle number EJ 0074117; original Italian-market bottling imported by P. Soffiantino & Co., Genoa.

A particularly appealing example of an early White Horse bottling for the Italian market, combining period presentation, original fiscal seal and an outstanding preservation of the liquid level.

Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the description and provide the best representation of the bottle's condition.

Due to the age of the bottle, the condition and drinkability of the contents cannot be guaranteed. Offered as a collectible vintage spirit.
