Description from the seller
Painter and graphic artist. Born in Dolo (Venice), Italy, 1938. Died in The Hague, 2019.
He was active in Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany.
After earning a degree in Topography and Civil Engineering in Bolzano, Italy, 1957, Simeoni earned his living for the next fourteen years by working on major construction projects in West Africa and Europe, mainly new roads, refineries and oil pipelines.
In 1972 – at the age of 33 – he realized that his decision to become a full-time artist had long been anticipated; he therefore left his job and opened a studio in Brussels (1972-1979).
Brief and frequent stays in Italy and one rather extended stay in Westphalia (Germany) have characterized his artistic activity of the last fifty years (almost), with important exhibitions in prestigious Galleries, Museums and Art Fairs in Italy (Milan, Turin, Bolzano, Novara, Bergamo, Vicenza, Pordenone), Belgium (Brussels), Netherlands (Amsterdam, The Hague, Lelystad, Rotterdam) and Germany (Frankfurt, Hamburg, Münster, Duisburg, Dortmund, Cologne, Gescher, Moers, Rheinberg, Kevelaer) etc.
During his artistic activity, he was married to Emmy Simeoni-Krajenbrink.
From 1979 to 2019 he was resident in The Hague, the Netherlands.
