Mario Radice, Composizione geometrica astratta, a 1978 original lithograph from Italy, in the abstract style with red, pink, yellow, green and multicolour colours, signed by hand and with frame, 48 cm high by 70 cm wide, about 2 kg, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Splendid and rare color graphic work by master Mario Radice, a leading figure of historic Italian abstraction and co-founder of the famous “Gruppo di Como.”
A sought-after “artist's proof,” a historically reserved specimen for the painter beyond the commercial edition, signed in pencil by the artist at the bottom right.
This specific sheet holds collectible and documentary significance thanks to an entirely autograph dedication by the artist at the bottom left, written in his hometown: "To the son of my old friends, with esteem and for my memory - Mario Radice. Como, 21-12-1978".
The work is in excellent condition, showing Radice's mature geometric style, with a lively interplay of overlaid squares and rectangles on a bright red background with strong visual impact.
The colors are vivid, the paper well preserved; it is sold with a frame that, only upon close inspection, shows a small and light sign of aging on the lower part of the wooden frame (as in the photos) which does not affect the stability or the aesthetic rendering of the work when hung.
