Description from the seller

A bundle of five bound sheets with a total of 272 pages and more than 200 illustrations and plates. Size 35 x 27 cm, weight 2.2 kg. The extensive text (in three columns) covers the Crimean War of a European-Turkish alliance against Russia (1853-1856) and the related military actions, such as those in the Baltic (Bomarsund). Among others, with an overview map and fold-out plates "Bombardment of Sevastopol" and "Sevastopol and surroundings during the siege", maps of the fortifications of Sevastopol and of the Sea of Azov and the Strait of Kerch, names that are still regularly in the news today. There is a table of contents and an "index of plates". The mentioned "loose plates" are bound in and appear on unnumbered pages. The description of the characteristics of the Russian army makes clear that after 173 years little has changed.
The paper used is quite thin and thus sometimes shows folds/tears. There are also here and there moisture stains, but the information is never unreadable.
See photos, these are part of the description.
