Historical Background

The Apple IIe was introduced in 1983 as the enhanced successor to the Apple II Plus. The “e” stood for “Enhanced,” referring to expanded memory, improved keyboard design, and refined internal architecture.

The Apple IIe became the most successful and longest-produced model in the Apple II series, remaining in production for over a decade. It played a major role in shaping home and educational computing during the 1980s.

Complete boxed systems with original foam protection, Monitor II, and DuoDisk are becoming increasingly difficult to find in working condition.
