A vintage PLATINUM fountain pen from Japan with a 14k gold nib in fine width, a black and gold plastic body, 12 cm long and 1.1 cm in diameter, dating to the Showa era, in good used condition and in working order.
Description from the seller
Item Description:
A beautifully preserved piece of Japanese writing history: a vintage PLATINUM fountain pen in timeless black and gold, believed to date from the Showa era (1926–1989). The 14K gold nib, in a fine (F) width, is the heart of the pen. It delivers the smooth, springy feel that made Japanese gold-nib pens of this period so admired. The barrel bears the earlier Platinum "P" logo mark, a hallmark of an older generation of production that sets it apart from modern pens. Accepting both standard cartridges and a converter, it remains a pen you can actually write with. Pens from this era were made in a time when the fountain pen was an everyday companion of students, clerks and writers across Japan, and surviving examples with a gold nib and period logo are increasingly appreciated by collectors. Understated, elegant and full of retro charm, it is a worthy addition to any vintage Japanese pen collection.
Size:
LENGTH: 12 cm
DIAMETER: 1.1 cm
Condition:
Pre-owned vintage condition after long-term storage, with light dullness to the metal parts and minor surface rubbing and small scratches on the barrel. The pen has been test-written and cleaned, and its overall condition is shown in the photographs.
