Two vintage writing instruments from Germany dating to circa 1930s–1940s: a marbled celluloid fountain pen of (unbranded) maker with a 14K gold nib and a concealed filling mechanism, and an Eclipse Streamliner mechanical pencil in burgundy marbled celluloid with gold-tone fittings and a clip marked Eclipse Streamliner, both in good condition with signs of age.
Description from the seller
Collection of two vintage writing instruments dating from approximately the 1930s–1940s.
The lot consists of:
1. Vintage marbled celluloid fountain pen
Attractive grey, black and pearlescent marbled celluloid body. The manufacturer has not been conclusively identified and the pen is therefore offered as unbranded/unknown maker.
The fountain pen is fitted with a nib clearly marked “WARRANTED 14K”, indicating a 14-carat gold nib. It features a period filling mechanism concealed beneath the removable end cap.
The design, construction and materials are characteristic of quality fountain pens produced during the first half of the 20th century.
2. Eclipse Streamliner mechanical pencil
Vintage Eclipse Streamliner mechanical pencil in burgundy/red marbled celluloid with gold-tone fittings. The clip is clearly marked Eclipse Streamliner.
The pencil includes an eraser beneath the removable end section. Eclipse produced Streamline/Streamliner writing instruments and matching pencils during this period.
Both objects show normal age-related signs of use, including wear and patination to the metal fittings. Please study all photographs carefully; they form an integral part of the description.
Important: these two writing instruments are offered together as a collector’s lot and are not presented as an original matching set.
