AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Description:
The Pilot 「鳳凰」"Phoenix" fountain pen is a beautiful fountain pen with a 14-karat gold nib, featuring a depiction of the legendary phoenix, a mythical bird, using the traditional Japanese technique of flat maki-e (lacquerware with flat decoration).
Design: The resin body is meticulously decorated with a phoenix and auspicious clouds using the togidashi hiramaki-e (polished flat maki-e) technique. The phoenix, an auspicious bird said to "appear only when a ruler is ready to rise," is depicted in flat maki-e on the lustrous black barrel.
This flat maki-e model was made around the 1980s-1990s by craftsmen at Pilot's in-house workshop, "國光會"(Kokkokai)
This is a rare fountain pen that is difficult to obtain even in Japan.
