Acrylic on circular wooden panel, approximately 140 cm in diameter.
Large-format work by the Portuguese painter Mário Vela, executed on circular support, depicting two stylized figures in a moment of closeness and affection. The composition highlights the artist's characteristic traits: elongated figures, expressive faces, defined outlines, and a vibrant color palette dominated by shades of blue, violet, red, yellow and orange.
The decorative background with floral motifs reinforces the intimate and poetic character of the scene, while the formal simplification and the chromatic intensity confer to the work a strong visual presence. It is a representative piece of Mário Vela's contemporary figurative language, an artist widely recognized in Portugal and internationally.
